The Consulate General of The People’s Republic of China in Chicago would like to invite Mid-Western Americans to participate in a Chinese Performance Short Video Competition featuring happy family. All participants are welcome to submit a short video expressing their thoughts and feelings about happy family via reading or reciting Chinese poems, singing Chinese songs, or reading Chinese short articles written by themselves.

I. Schedule

Time for submission: November 1st, 2021 to November 21st, 2021

Time for Evaluation: November 22nd to November 28th, 2021

Announcement of Results on Twitter @ChinaConsulateChicago: November 29th, 2021

Award Distribution: After November 30th, 2021

II. Participants

American nationality residents in Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Kansas, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana and Colorado.

III. Video Format

The short video should be no more than 3 minutes. The resolution of the videos should be no less than 1280 × 720, and the format should be MP4, recorded in landscape mode.

IV.Awards Setting

There will be 5 Best Chinese Speaker Awards and 5 Outstanding Video Awards. 

All Participants who have submitted a video with satisfactory quality will receive a souvenir. 

The results of the competition will be announced on November 29th on Twitter @ChinaConsulateChicago as well of the official website of the Consulate. The awarded videos would be displayed on the website and other media platforms operated or recommended by the Consulate.

V. Submission

The participants should complete the attached registration form, sign the authorization agreement, scan both files into PDF format, and send them together with the video in a compressed file to Chinesevideocompetition@gmail.com.

The Consulate reserves the right of final interpretation of this competition.
